Amid the triumphant — if not premature — return to live music south of the border, Fall Out Boy announced yesterday (August 4) that the band would be pulling out of a few of their "Hella Mega Tour" stops after one of their team members tested positive for COVID-19. In their absence, Rivers Cuomo paid tribute to his would-be tourmates in the form of a delightfully half-assed cover.

The Weezer frontman put his own spin on the band's 2005 smash "Sugar, We're Going Down," only tripping over the lyrics a few times and, all things considered, to the delight of a Fall Out Boy-starved crowd at New York's Citi Field last night.

At one point during the cover, Cuomo can be heard urging the crowd to sing "louder, so they can hear you" while meandering through the song's often misheard lyrics.

Fall Out Boy are expected to return to the tour this weekend, rejoining Cuomo and his Weezer pals, Green Day and the Interrupters at Sunday's (August 8) show in Washington, DC.
